The Foundation surprise is being constructed today – very exciting, looking forward to seeing them use it from Monday!

Next week is a normal week with no deadlines for returns. Please remember that the email yesterday stated what is required for all children for PE on a Thursday, if you missed the email, the details are below.

This term on a Thursday all classes (Class 2 & FU in the morning and Classes 1 & 3 in the afternoon), will be using the PE large apparatus in the hall. This includes climbing structures and other equipment. Of course, it goes without saying that safety is the most important thing in school and there are some safety requirements for use of the equipment. All children need a short sleeved T shirt and shorts (normal school PE uniform). Joggers/leggings should not be worn. Shorts should not be baggy, but regular in fit (as most children have). T shirts are tucked in whilst on the apparatus, this is to minimise the risk of getting ‘snagged’ whilst climbing and working. Bear feet, arms and legs, provide extra grip whilst working, and this enables the children to control their bodies much more easily, plimsolls are not ideal for this activity. Hair should be tied back and earrings removed, if this is not possible, then tape is provided to protect the child’s ears.

From Monday, staff who take children at handover – hall door and Foundation door, will be wearing face covering. We have not changed our practice in school, but we are focussing on those handover times. Once again, as stated last week, the wearing of face coverings by parents/family is not discouraged and we are seeing an increasing number of parents wearing them, thank you.

Next week, I will be putting out details about Christmas arrangements. These will be somewhat different this year but Christmas will still happen just without the Fayre and Performances. Christmas Jumpers will be required though, so best to dig out last years’! More details will follow.
