This week
Good morning,
Firstly, I hope everyone has a good week and if you are going away, safe travel.
Thank you for the responses to the residential trip, it will help us make some decisions moving forward. Whatever happens, the overnight in July will continue, as this has proved incredibly popular and is now a regular on the school calendar.
When we return on Monday 20th February, the children will be involved in poetry writing workshops with local author and poet, Paul Cookson. There will be an opportunity for parents to join us at 3.00pm for some performances. There will also be a book sale of his new poetry books - Alien Poems & Monster Poems - £3 each or 2 for £5.
Although the new menu begins, due to awaiting deliveries, Mr. Rogers will serve vegetarian sausage rolls or jacket potatoes. We will ensure that the children who normally order a jacket on the day that vegetarian sausage rolls are served, will get their choice.
We have been asked if we would be willing to take note of Thinking Day for the Guides/Brownies/Cubs/Scouts etc. 22nd February is a very special day when we think about each other in our different countries and remember our founders Lord and Lady Baden-Powell whose birthdays was both 22nd February. I would like to invite all Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs to come to school in their uniform and not their school uniform that day. It is optional and I appreciate some may not want to. It would be a great opportunity for the children to share with others, what being part of this organisation means. The 22nd February is the first WEDNESDAY back.
