This week

Good morning,

 

Well the hall is full of bags, suitcases and sleeping bags, classrooms are full of very excited children! WE are looking forward to our 5th overnight camp with Take2Adventure. Pictures and updates will be posted on Twitter ( https://x.com/Sturtonhead ) . Pick up tomorrow will be from around 3.15pm, I will update you if things change.

 

NO SWIMMING tomorrow.

 

The Menu is Week 2. There will be a menu change on Tuesday, it will be Quorn dippers or jacket potato.

 

Ideal Meals are almost ready for parents to start creating accounts for meal ordering, I will let you know when this starts and will provide the instructions.

 

Please make bookings for wraparound care to office@sturton.notts.sch.uk by 3.30pm on Friday.

 

Monday

End of Year PTFA Disco – 6.00 – 7.15pm in the school hall. £3.50 per child includes pizza, drink and ice pop (and lots of dancing!). Please bring money on Monday morning in a named envelope.

 

Tuesday

Sports afternoon - All children should be in PE kits all day. Our Sports Afternoon takes place on Tuesday 22nd July from 1.15pm (please arrive from 1.00pm). The first part of the afternoon consists of a series of team challenges which include children in mixed teams.

 

There will be some seats along the track, but people are welcome to bring their own chairs too.

 

The first activities in the afternoon are team challenges. Siblings are together in the teams and we invite spectators to move round with the teams to cheer them on.

 

IMPORTANT ARRANGEMENTS:

For the races (all children including F1), we ask that parents stay on the school side of the track, the children will be on the shelter side and will be facing you all. The finish line area will be clearly marked off to keep it clear, please do not come into this area. Photos should be taken from the side of the track, we need to keep the area near the finish line clear.

 

When Foundation children have done their races, we will send them across to sit with families. The Foundation staff can then support the rest of school with supervision. The rest of the races will then take place. The children will have their water bottles and will be supervised by school staff at all times and be sat with class teachers. A hat and sun-screen would also be advisable. Please do not come across the track to the children, there are hundreds of people around and we have to make sure everyone is safe and we know where the children are at all times.

 

We will not be running the Marathon race on the Tuesday, we will run that at another time in school. Straight after the races there will be the announcement of the winning House Team and then we will let parents collect children. School will be open to go in and collect bags, the blue door near the Foundation outdoor area/KS2 toilets should be used by children in Classes 1, 2 & 3 collecting their things.

Wednesday

All children in PE kits all day. We will run the Marathon races for those children who wish to take part.

NO SPORTS CLUB

NO MAKATON

 

Thursday

There is a treat for all children on Thursday afternoon, it comes on for wheels and plays a tune?!?

 

Gallery & Celebration Evening from 6.00pm. Everyone welcome to this traditional event. Making the choices for awards is always very difficult and I hope you appreciate that not all children can get something every year. We look forward to celebrating the successes of the year. Makaton Choir will be performing at 6.30pm on stage too, we look forward to that!

Friday

Leavers in Church at 2.00pm. Seats will be reserved for Year 6 families, please let me know an idea of how many will be attending from you family. Remember to bring those tissues, this promises to be another tear-jerking event when we say thank you and goodbye to our wonderful Year 6.

 

School closes at 3.00pm after the Leavers Service.

 

School reopens on Tuesday 2nd September.
