Good morning, Clubs for the week are: Monday Striders Knitting Tuesday Pupil Voice Committee Basketball Wednesday Baking Thursday Hi 5 Friday Cybercoach Foundation 1 Full time build up The new F2 for September are in full time from Monday. Can parents please bring their children to the Learning Room (next to Foundation) when they have dropped off coats and bags. Mrs. Ledsham will receive the children in the Learning Room and have activities ready. The children will then move into the Unit at 9.00am for registration. This will help to ease the congestion in a morning at this busy time of year. F1 part time and Foundation 2 children should go to the Unit as normal. Guitar and trumpet are on Tuesday. Violin is on Wednesday. Class 3 have DARE on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday is Sports afternoon for all children. Part time children are welcome to be in school all day, please inform Mrs. Ledsham and provide them with a packed lunch. Children should come to school in school PE kit. Sun screen and a hat are recommended. We will be running through a practice in the morning with competition in the afternoon. The format of the Sports will start with team challenges. Siblings will be in the same challenge teams and they will move around the times activities accumulating points for their House Team. Parents are invited to move round and watch the activities. This will be followed by the competitive races on the track. The afternoon will finish with the marathon races. The PTFA will be selling refreshments during the afternoon. The children will have their water bottles out with them, please do not give them refreshments during the sports events. On Friday morning the children in Class 2 will be undertaking a ‘mapping challenge’ in Clumber Park. School uniform, strong footwear, drink and snack are required. A letter will be sent out soon. We will travel by school and Kettlewells minibus. We will return for lunch as normal. Foundation 2 & Year 6 – important We have one spare swimming session on Friday. We have arranged for the Y6 to have the big pool to themselves under the supervision of the swimming coaches. We would also like to take the current Foundation 2 children with us. They will be in the small pool and will be under the supervision of the swimming coaches as well as myself, Mrs. Ledsham, Mrs. Downing and Mrs. Elliott. Please ensure your child has a swimming costume and trunks (swim shorts are not allowed) and a towel. On Friday between 5.00-7.00pm, there will be a family BBQ and games evening on the school field. The PTFA will be selling burgers and hotdogs. There will be opportunities to play games such as rounders, cricket etc. Let’s hope for good weather. Have a good weekend.
