Dear Parents, In order to help us allocate EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) places and plan for the next couple of years, we would really appreciate it if you would let us know if you have pre-school aged children who may require a place in EYFS. Also, if you have any friends or family members who have young children, please pass on this letter to them. Ideally, we would ask for children to be aged 6 months and over when they go on the waiting list, once on the list, families will be contacted regularly by school and invited to school events. Children can start school in the term immediately following their 3rd birthday, we call this Foundation 1. If you would like your child to be placed on the EYFS waiting list, please contact the school office on 01427 880342 or email office@sturton.notts.sch.uk Unfortunately, a place in Foundation 1 does not guarantee a fulltime place in school. However, we are a Voluntary Aided school and that means that the Governors are the Admission Authority. Parents still apply to Nottinghamshire County Council Admissions for full-time education, but we have the option to offer places that may otherwise not be offered by County. Finding the right school and ensuring that you get a place is one of the most important decisions you will make as parents.
