World Book Day. The children will be spending the day using two books by Ellie Jackson ‘Marli’s Tangled Tale’ and ‘Duffy’s Lucky Escape’. These books have an environmental theme. During the day, Notts TV will be in school filming some of the activities and interviewing children about their views on the amount of plastic that gets into the environment. Nigel Dunn will also be in school as it is his passion for protecting wildlife that has inspired us as a school to get active about this. Next week (wc 5th March) sees Sturton’s first ‘Waste Week’ when we will be encouraging less use of plastics in and around school including lunch boxes. You will have heard much in the news about the issues of plastic straws, this is one area that we are hoping to tackle. The Pupil Voice Committee will be launching Waste Week on Friday in Merits, please come along and hear what we are aiming to do. Notts TV are hoping to return and cover our Waste Week too.
